Program for the Treatment of Children with Special Needs

This program is designed to provide integrated therapeutic and educational support to children facing learning difficulties or behavioral challenges. It responds to the urgent need in the Palestinian context to support vulnerable children, especially those impacted by violence, displacement, poverty, and psychological stress.


🎯 Target Groups

  • Children aged 7–12 years with learning difficulties (such as challenges in reading, writing, or comprehension).

  • Children aged 5–18 years with behavioral issues (such as hyperactivity, aggression, withdrawal, or anxiety).


🛠️ Program Components

The program delivers a range of specialized interventions tailored to meet each child’s specific needs, while also supporting families and schools.

🔎 Assessment & Diagnosis

  • Identification of each child’s specific type of learning difficulty.

  • Comprehensive psychological and educational assessment in collaboration with the family.

  • Parent interviews and child observation sessions.

👦👧 Therapeutic & Educational Activities

  • Play therapy sessions to foster emotional expression and behavioral regulation.

  • Small group sessions (no more than 5 children) to develop social, emotional, and academic skills.

  • Individual parental guidance sessions to support caregivers at home.

  • Group sessions for parents to share experiences and build community-based support.

  • Joint child-parent sessions to strengthen the family relationship and promote positive reinforcement.

📚 Enrichment & Recreational Activities

  • Intensive learning camps focused on improving core academic skills.

  • Recreational activities for children and families to encourage joy, healing, and social engagement.


🤝 Community Coordination

Children are reached through coordination with:

  • Public and private schools

  • Local partner organizations in neighborhoods and camps

  • Mental health and psychosocial support teams
